Asperger's Syndrome - A child with asperger's disorder has the same common problems as children with autism however they don't have language development problems of a autistic child.
Pervasive Developmental Disorder- and not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS) - This child has autism but doesn't meet the criteria for high functioning autism.
High-Functioning Autism - This child has autism but has normal learning and cognitive and learning skills. Language development is difficult initially but they become proficient eventually.
Neurological Disorder- study of nervous system
Therapeutic- used in treating disease
Psychoanalysis- Method of understanding mental life
Schizophrenia- psychiatric disorder with symptoms of withdrawal into self
Autistic Spectrum Disorder- Is a disorder that includes symptoms falling in the areas of communication, socialization, and imagination/restricted interests. Most notable is the impairment in communication and social interaction, a far-reaching challenge which impacts daily activities and relationships at home, school, and work.
Ambivalence- conflict of ideas or attitudes
Autism- a disturbance in psychological development in which use of language, reaction to stimuli, interpretation of the world, and the formation of relationships are not fully established and follow unusual patterns
